TERMINATOR GENISYS: 2015: ACTION: Putting it lightly, this movie was a complete waste of money and time. Not to mention that the 3-D effects were poorly executed, the story line vapid and non inspiring, but it was also a shameful remake of the initial classic by James Cameron.
It wasn't the fact that the franchise is in its senior years, it was just the fact that the writing didn't challenge the concept of the movies, or even give it justice.
My bank account will disagree ...
For those that didn't see the original, (shame on you) this will seem new. My thoughts on this are that you have already and either you are 1. completely devoid of rational thought and didn't realize it was a rehash, or 2. didn't care about spending $13.00 for a disjointed and completely disappointing movie.
"Are we really making this movie?"
The characters selected weren't the issue. Jason Clark via Divergent was his usual unassuming role in which he doesn't impress or disappoint, and Emelia Clarke strikes me as a sort of combination of Katniss and Shailene Woodley. So the cast wasn't the issue.
I will say that I totally fell asleep in this movie. I just started to see the same action scenes that I remember from Terminator 2, with the liquid terminator chasing the van and prying the doors open with his hands and then I was lights out.
Same thing, different movie.
There were a multitude of plot issues, story line miscues, and the worse issue was the pathetic attempt at humor. Making Arnold smile made me cringe, worse then the ridiculous use of his old one-liners.
Please stop
Now you can have remakes of other movies, but they have to be compelling. One franchise that comes to mind is Spiderman, which became a lot darker and more focused on Parkour type stunts.
So this is why I've been doing in my spare time..
Anyway, I wouldn't watch this movie, but if you're a fan and need a soporific sleep inducer, feel free to watch: 62%
Genisys
Don't watch this!!
